The Literature in Language Teaching SIG
The Literature in Language Teaching (LiLT) Special Interest Group (SIG) formed in 2011 to encourage and promote the use of literature in the language classroom.
Appropriately chosen literature provides real content to engage and motivate our language students. The literature itself provides the ready-made context for learning that is so often lacking in our EFL teaching situation.
Perhaps you are considering using literature in the language classroom and would like to discuss how best you may try to do so. Or perhaps you yourself have some ideas to share with your professional peers, to improve their language classrooms.
We are a relatively small but remarkably busy group. We work hard to do our very best for members. We put out bi-monthly newsletters, and produce a now bi-annual Journal to keep people informed and to enable the sharing of your ideas with your peers.
You are all very welcome to join the LiLT SIG, to discuss, learn and share! And if you wish to become more actively involved in some way, perhaps by writing, editing, and/or organising, you are certainly very welcome to help us out – join our friendly team!
